This half-day seminar provides an overview of the theory and practice of Value Engineering. Major processes, techniques, and applications will be covered in this course, and practical examples will be provided in the areas of design, construction, manufacturing, and business process improvement. Learners will receive a copy of the text, The Manual of Value Methodology, by Robert B. Stewart, and will be provided with a variety of useful templates and support materials. Project managers will learn how and when to apply VE techniques to their projects to maximize the value of the process.
This course will provide project managers with an overview of the application of Value Engineering to projects related to design, construction, manufacturing, and business process improvement. Learners will develop an understanding of what constitutes Value Engineering, the core concept of Function Analysis, the steps of the VE Job Plan, timing VE activities, and implementing a VE program within an organization. In addition, the course is approved by the Project Management Institute (PMI®), worth 4 Professional Development Units (PDUs).
