This more robust,two-day (16-hour) course will cover all facets of risk management that aid in enhancing value across all industries. Topics covered range from introducing the basic concepts and techniques of risk management, developing an effective risk management framework, qualitatively and quantitatively analyzing risk, observing economic uncertainties, developing a Risk Management Plan, to implementing active risk monitoring and control measures. This comprehensive course offers effective techniques that can be incorporated into any project manager’s toolbox, regardless of whether or not risk management or is their primary focus. Participants will receive a copy of applicable Risk Management Software developed by VMS, a copy of training material, access to leading industry practices and examples, and a copy of the book, Risk Management for Design and Construction, by Robert Stewart, Terry Berends, and Ovidiu Cretu.
The learning objectives are to develop a practical understanding of the terms, theory, applications and basic techniques of Risk Management to design and construction projects. The successful completion of this course will result in 16 Professional Development Units (PDUs) through the Project Management Institute (PMI®).
